Hello fellow classman of 1999. I can't believe it has been ten years since Kristen Bailey and I used to yell through the intercom every morning -real sorry about that! Or ten long years since we made a lap around the track carrying the old NS flag after a touchdown- or ten years since I've participated in a high school assembly...I'll stop with the memories, I guess they can wait for the reunion. I happened to be home in Mt. Pleasant last year when the school held a retirement open house for Dr. Ellefson and Mr. Erickson. I was glad to be able to thank them for the experiences and knowledge I gained while at NSHS. In the past ten years their influence and many others from high school has affected what I did and choices I made. So I will always be proud to be a Hawk- and I try to sing the school song everytime I pass the school on my way to my parents.
The last ten years have been mostly filled with school for me. I went to Snow College then Utah State and then Washington State University for a masters. In between all of that I traveled a bit, skiied a lot, served a mission to Calgary Canada, met a lot of wonderful people and tried to jump into any adventure I could. I met Milo Andrus while at WSU, he was attending the Vet School there while I was in graduate school. We were married in 2006, we finished our degrees and started a family all in 2007-8. It was wild but we sure our enjoying our daughter Evelyn who is nearly two. We are expecting a second baby in May 2009. Milo is now working as a vet in Wyoming and we are enjoying living in the mountains again. I get to stay at home with my daughter and am teaching some adult education classes at a community college outreach center. Well...that is ten years in the brief. I hope we can make it to the reunion, it would be nice to see you all.

Michelle (Olsen) Smith
Here is a low down of the past nine years.
99-00 I moved to Orem the day after graduation. I got a job managing my own Subway restaurant. I managed it for 4 years. I met the love of my life and got engaged to be married.
01 I was married in the LDS Manti Temple. I continued to manage Subway.
02 We had our first child. A beautiful girl that we named Kialey Ann Smith.
03-04 My husband was layed off from his job and work was scarce. We weighed all our options and decided the USAF was the best choice for our family. Then I could be the stay at home mom I wanted to be. My husband left in November to go to boot camp and tech school which was a long 4 months without him. When he got back they moved us to Little Rock AFB in Arkansas. A month later I had our first boy. We named him Justice Jordan Smith. Only six months later I got the worst phone call of my life. My brother Troy called to tell me that my parents had been killed in a car accident. My world felt like it was going to fall apart but I have a great husband that supported me through it. We flew to UT to plan and attend the funeral. While there we got the news that we were expecting baby #3.
05-06 We had our second girl. Addison Lynn Smith. Life was just busy chasing the kids. Josh continued to move up in rank in the USAF.
07 We found out we were moving to New Mexico as well as pregnant with baby #4. I spent the summer packing and being pregnant. We took a road trip while moving. We dropped all our stuff off in new Mexico then took a trip to UT and MT to see family. We got back to New Mexico and moved into the house. Only two weeks later baby four arrived . It was a crazy delivery. After only 1 hour of contractions he was coming out. We had to call 911 and the paramedics got there just in time to catch him. He was born on the bathroom floor of the new house! The kids were in the living room. It was crazy!! We named this little boy Jett Montana Smith.
08 Not too exciting. We took a trip to CT,NY,RI and MA to visit my husband's mission. We also took a trip over to Palmyra and had a great time. When we got back the USAF informed Josh that in three days he would be leaving to WA to do survival training for a month. I decided that since he was going to be gone I would take the kids to UT and MT to see family. I drove four kids by myself 1300 miles to see family. We also drove over to WA to see Josh for a week end while he was between trainings. I did a total of 4000 miles of travel with the kids for two months. It was a long summer but great too.
09 Has already been an eventful year. We have had surgery on the three year old Addy as well as my husband having arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder putting him out of work for a month. Then I just had two root canals and that in and of itself has felt like surgery. We are hoping the rest of the year looks better!
I look forward to coming to the reunion and seeing everyone.
